Opening Day Saturday July 5, 2020
I “came home” to Spiritualism in 1994. I began to unfold and develop in a weekly home circle I now lead. I studied with Rev B. Anne Gehman, Rev Janet Nohavec and others at The Arthur Findlay College in Stansted, England. I have also worked at Lily Dale (New York, where I have served in the Healing Temple since 2004), and at the International Spiritualist Federation (ISF). I currently hold membership in a Spiritualist Church and continue to serve as speaker and healer and medium. I am studying to be an Ordained Minister, Certified Medium, Commissioned Healer, and National Spiritualist Teacher through the National Spiritualist Association of Churches (NSAC).
In addition to “coming home to Spiritualism” in 1994, I also was introduced to Shamanic Journeying about that same time. It took a woman sitting next to me getting a message one Sunday morning a year later that she “needed to listen to the heartbeat of a drum,” to get me over my reluctance to learn more about shamanism and journeying. Since then, I have received extensive training in Michael Harner’s Core Shamanism, Tibetan Shamanism, Celtic Shamanism, Q’ero Indian (“Inkan”) Shamanism, Sami Shamanism, and some Native American (Cherokee, Seneca, Lakota, and Cree) and Native Hawai’ian Huna teaching. My shamanic work typically includes a fair amount of journeys for others’ questions or healing (information and/or actual work), and several house and/or property “cleansing and blessing” rituals (sometimes including séances) per year. Spiritualism and shamanism definitely are the intertwined twin rails of my spiritual path!
With a BA Degree in Geography (1972) and an all-but-thesis MA Degree in Cartography (1976) from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, I worked as a cartographer at the State and Federal levels. I served as the Senior Cartographer for the 1980 Census while working at the U.S. Census Bureau (1976-1984), and as a supervisor and program manager at the mapping agency within the Defense Department (1984-2010). I am the only person to have served two terms as President of the American Cartographic Association. Retired since July 2010, I eagerly am dedicating the second half of my life to studying and serving Infinite Intelligence and Spirit however, whenever, and wherever I am able.
